HR Generalist and Payroll Specialist

The HR Generalist and Payroll Specialist works closely with management to ensure best practices in Human Resources by developing and implementing pay and benefit plans, reviewing and ensuring compliance regulations, and processing benefit and pay records including payroll compliance. The HR Generalist is responsible for making sure all employees receive support including maintaining employment records, analyzing HR trends and metrics, and assisting management in developing and promoting employee programs.


  • Payroll Tax and HR/Payroll Reporting
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and Federal/State Regulations
  • Ensure required payroll tax and other government filings are completed timely and accurately
  • Setup new jurisdictions for payroll taxes and ensure payroll processor is kept up to date with rate changes and notices * Payroll/Benefits
  • Execution of a twice monthly Payroll through ADP Workforce Now, including 1099 contractors.
  • Administer compensation and benefit plans; including 401k compliance, and open enrollment periods.
  • Maintain pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions. * Recruiting and Retention
  • Assist management to design and maintain job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and follow-up, including on-boarding, paperwork, etc.
  • Provide employee support by maintaining records of leave, compensation, PTO, and related issues. * Compliance
  • Monitor and implement applicable human resource federal and state requirements as needed.
  • Maintain employee handbook.
  • Ability to work in a confidential manner, as well as data privacy compliance. * ADP Workforce Now
  • Complete transition to Workforce Now including online employee portals for self service, electronic on boarding of personnel, training of staff and management on use of program and HRIS.
  • Other duties as assigned. * Assist with other projects as assigned and needed.


  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of ADP Workforce Now and HRIS preferred
  • 3+ years of Human Resource administration experience required
  • Familiarity with local and federal employment and payroll tax regulations and agencies
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, exceptionally reliable
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact with employee in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, bachelors degree or relevant certifications strongly preferred
